Title: Chalayan Paris Fashion Week VR
Swarovski wanted to bring fashion fans from around the world to the ultimate VIP experience at the front row of Hussein Chalayan’s Paris runway show. They were looking to create buzz across social media channels; engaging key media, influencers and fashion fans with dynamic content to transcend the target Asian audience with mass appeal across the world.
Project Concept / Creative Solution
To give a fresh new perspective on this incredible designer and create an original approach to fashion formats, we had the designer walk us right into the heart of the preparations as the models get ready. Then we divided the film into a series of well composed 20 second scenes, mixing between a VIP seat in front row at the runway and key behind-the-scenes action.
To get the best out of VR you need to be as close to the action as possible. The Surround Vision team were positioned in prime locations near the photographers pit, the front row and the holding area directly backstage. This allowed us to capture the intimate moments prior to the models going out on the runway, the last minute makeup touch ups and the models turning around the camera to show off the clothes. As well as covering the show, we produced a short form documentary film for fans of the designer to share on social media.
